The estate Syrah is hand-crafted in tiny batches, and our non-interventionist methodology has steadily evolved since its first bottling in 2009.
The 2023 OVID Napa Valley Syrah is a deep ruby with undertones of magenta. Brightly fragrant, with black strawberry gelée, macerated blackberry, fragrant earth and smoked game. The tannins are long and powerful lithe, with freshness balancing the long, finish of tar, jasmine oil and wild plum.

The 2023 Syrah is magnificent—in fact, it’s one of the very best Syrahs I have ever tasted here. Silky tannins and lifted, precise aromatics convey total finesse. The purity of the fruit in the Syrah is just mind-blowing. The 2023 is a blend of two ferments, one of which was done with 20% whole clusters. This is just spectacularly elegant. 99 points.
