Tasting Notes

Growing seasons like 2018 delight us. Evenly paced rains began the 2018 vintage and refreshed our vineyard as it slept during the first months of the year. A few warm days gently awoke it from its slumber in late March, pushing out the tender shoots. April brought some of our biggest rainfall and set the stage for a luxurious growing season. Long and clement summer days coaxed the grapes along as they slowly reached their full fruition. A warm early September brought on the relatively compressed harvest, starting the second week of October and finishing triumphantly just ten days later.

Rich and enduring, the 2018 vintage finds exuberant expression in this OVID Napa Valley. Mulberry, bay leaf and cola notes entwined with aromas of licorice root, sage, sandalwood, cassis and fresh blackberry radiate from the glass. Powerful and complete, this wine's poise and levity will exhilarate for decades to come.
